Hi there! My name is Livia, and I am an independent writer and curator. I’m the eldest daughter of Brazilian immigrants with an obsession for all things culture, art, justice and fashion. This past May, I graduated from Texas Christian University with my MA in Art History and a certificate in Critical Race and Ethnic Studies after obtaining a BS in Architecture and a couple minors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
I moved back to my hometown postgrad to have a go at the Chicago art world after spending 2 years experiencing the vibrant DFW scene. The “go” in question is still in progress, but I want to use this site as a space to document my journey and improve my skills. I like to think of myself as a creative person, or at least as someone needing an outlet to expend the intellectual energy my brain continuously generates…hence, Blue Pyrus. Contrary to the name of this site, my favorite color is green, and I have a sensory issue with the texture of pears. I hope you stick around!
